Another Korean zombie drama! Adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Han Sang-woon, "New Utopia", starring Park Jung-min and BLACKPINK member Jisoo, was recently announced to premiere in February. The official recently released new stills. In addition to the sweet couple photos of the male and female protagonists, there are also bloody zombies attacking, but there seems to be a bit of humor mixed in with the horror?

"New Utopia" is a new work by the screenwriter of "Parasite" and directed by Yoon Sung-hyun of "Time to Hunt". The plot tells the story of "Jae-yoon", a soldier who proposed a breakup, and Jae-yoon's girlfriend "Young-joo", who just received the breakup notice. The two ran towards each other through the center of Seoul that was attacked by zombies.

Park Jung-min plays Lee Jae-yoon, an older soldier who enlisted at the age of 26 and is anxious about his future. He breaks up with his girlfriend Young-joo because of his anxiety about the future, and then encounters a group of zombies. He is weak and lacks confidence, but gradually becomes the captain.

Jisoo plays the role of "Kang Young-joo", a new employee who was born as a goddess in an engineering university. She is troubled by her boyfriend who does not know her feelings and is eventually informed of the breakup. She went out to see her boyfriend, but ended up encountering a group of zombies. In the struggle for survival, she gradually became stronger.

In the released stills, the originally sweet daily life of Jae-yoon (Park Jung-min) and his girlfriend Young-joo (Jisoo) has turned into a terrifying zombie purgatory. Jae-yoon and his unit are facing a critical zombie outbreak on a high-rise tower in downtown Seoul, while Young-joo seems to be facing a huge crisis as she crosses the center of Gangnam Street.

The corpses all over the ground and the bloodthirsty monsters lurking outside the glass door all bring a full sense of tension, but the funny expressions of the supporting characters inexplicably add a touch of comedy.

"New Utopia" is scheduled to premiere on February 7, 2025. In addition to the highly anticipated starring cast, Han Jin-won, who won the screenplay award at the American Academy Awards for "Parasite", and Ji Ho-jin of "Mall of Murder" will serve as screenwriters, and will work with director Yoon Sung-hyun, who showed unique visual art in the movie "Time to Hunt".
